The English speaking gang

I. Love. My. OCs.

Stories are great and all that but the characters I create are like my children to me: very close to my heart. And I get very excited about them. So I'm going to introduce some of the main ones to you. Not in detail... but at least there are pictures.

The Boy Who Knew Too Much

I'm a sucker for Omegaverse at the moment... and this was supposed to be a tiny little one chapter brain dust thingy. It refused to stay that way. I blame it on Lyle. He was just too interesting to let it go. Charlie agrees strongly.

Charles (Charlie) Constantine Blackwood

His parents are rich but they weren't born rich and he is going to inherit everything and take over the company eventually. Charlie never forgets to mention that. He is proud of his parents' achievements but mostly because he was raised to feel proud of it. As a little rich kid, he is rather snobby, slightly arrogant but dutiful and hard-working.

The problem is that he doesn't seem to have a will of his own. He always does what his mother tells him to because mother knows best. And she's the alpha in the house so he learned not to argue. But after meeting Lyle again, he begins to have doubts that he'll be happy with the life she has planned for him.

I'm out of my depths with him. Coming from a family of very strong personalities defined by their stubbornness, it is quite hard for me to imagine a mummy's boy like Charlie. But he kinda grows on me. Though he really annoys me at times.

Lyle Robertson

Lyle grew up next to the big Blackwood mansion. His parents were middle class betas and wary of the Blackwoods. Lyle, on the other hand, was incredibly fascinated by the alpha boy next door and when Charlie came over to talk to him one afternoon, it was the start of some kind of friendship. A friendship with romantic interests from Lyle's side.

Charlie's mother tolerated the friendship between her son and the neighbour's boy but she rose to break it up as soon as she suspected something romantic happening between them. Because Lyle might be an omega but Charlie's mother couldn't stand the shame of her son being with another boy.

At this time, Lyle's mother was already struggling with cancer and Lyle often came to Charlie to forget about the stress. Then, one day, he wasn't allowed in anymore. His father struggled to support his wife financially and was forced into a deal with Victoria Blackwood eventually. The Blackwoods would pay for the treatment if Lyle was married to some alpha woman who was looking for an omega. Lyle was basically sold to this lovesick psychopath who used him to replace the married beta she was in love with. His mother died of cancer anyway, his father of a broken heart because he regretted the deal even before his wife died. Lyle was tortured by the alpha who never mated with him and was eventually left for dead in the woods when she grew tired of him. He survived and built a new, bitter life in a small town not too far from his old home. He started using drugs, fell into debt and was forced into prostitution. This is the situation Charlie finds him in.

Despite all the bad things that happened to him, Lyle is too stubborn to give up. He's incredibly kind and helps Charlie even though all of this happened because of him. Of course, he is bitter and gives snarky comments because he doesn't want be hurt anymore. But he can't help opening his heart for Charlie once again. I identify with him much more than with Charlie even though the story is from Charlie's perspective. Which is a first for me as well.

This is what Lyle looks like when Charlie meets him. It has nothing to do with the happy, sweet, brunette boy he met when they were younger.

Lyle struggles with his looks a lot too because the tattoos were not his choice. His alpha forced them on him to match the beta she was in love with.

Kings of Albion

It is more of a practice piece... nonetheless, the characters grew on me. So I will introduce them here.

Haldur (Alden)

Haldur is the only heir to the throne, he's been raised to become Albion's king his whole life. He's been raised as an alpha. Therefore, it is a shock to everyone when he presents omega. It throws him into a hole of self-doubt, identity crisis and anger. He is not the person to bow down and just fill the role of a gently smiling queen at the king's side. And on top of everything, he is kidnapped. Is it bad luck or fate?

I like him very much. The way he breaks with the ideas of what omegas are supposed to be like... he is a strong, determined and self-confident young man with a practical mind. I also very much like that he is not what most people would consider beautiful and he still has a kind of attraction that many would trade their beauty for.

Loktur/Valiant

Valiant is a big word. And a name unfit for a criminal. So it's no surprise that he makes up another name to fill the position he's supposed to fill, even though it does not fit him very well. Valiant is a very interesting character because he is ambigious. He acts opportunistic but not because he is an opportunist per se. Where he grew up, it was the only way to survive. He has a set of values and morals and he knows how to live by them in the situation he is in. Maybe in more privileged circumstances, he can choose more freely between things that have to be done and things that should be done.

Linden

Linden is Haldur's manservant and most trusted friend. He is a very sweet, gentle and very loyal person with a huge admiration for his future king for whom he would do anything. But most of the time, he just looks after Haldur and makes sure that he is healthy, well-nourished and happy. As a beta, he is always there to comfort Haldur and helps him when the omega instincts overwhelm the prince.

He is not as well developed as many other of my characters but I love him nonetheless. He is a very sweet human and I just happen to like sweet human beings. :)

Jackson

Valiant's childhood friend. As orphans, they both grew up on the street. One became a criminal and head of the omega trade circle. The other earned his money as a mercenary and assassin. But they care deeply for each other.

Despite his gruff nature and appearance, Jackson has a a soft spot for the people he cares about. It's hard for him to process his emotions and alpha instincts. Especially after he comes across an omega in heat that he cannot refuse.

Franklin Smith

He seems to have no worries or at least it seems like it. Being caged in a omega trade centre is a very stressful thing though and right when they are rescued, he is going into heat. To make things worse, the rescuer is an incredibly attractive alpha... so Franklin gets back home to his mother deflowered, pregnant but unmated... and he still doesn't seem to care.

He's a a bad carpenter but a good thief. And when the alpha who impregnated him shows up on his doorstep, he doesn't waste a second. Franklin might be a bit dumb but he knows how to get what he wants.

Down For It If You Are

I liked the Netflix series Voltron. But it irked me that all the aliens were so similar to humans in their actions and biology. So I took the Galra and the Alteans and made up something that differentiates them from humans. This story explores the differences and asks the question whether the different species are even compatible.

Zorak Galrathea

Zorak chose this last name for his own... because he thought it sounded cool. He's a son of Lotor but never actually met his father.

The Altean genes are very strong in him though and he doesn't really fit in with the Galra. So he decides to leave the space ship he grew up on and travels to planet Earth where he supports the Garrison with his engineering talents. He's a scientist and very intelligent. Sometimes, he loses track of the world around him when he works but he's very family oriented as well. I say 'he'... Zorak is not a human and therefore categories like sex or gender don't really fit him (for more details see: "It's different with Galras")

Aaron Tayuki

Aaron always wanted to be a rock star. At least, that was his big dream when he was ten. He never really grew out of this phase and travels around trying to earn his living as a street musician. He's fascinated by everything strange and weird and therefore very accepting, chill and open-minded. He develops a liking for Zorak very quickly even though he isn't technically interested in men but, well... Zorak is an alien anyway.

Others

OCs! OCs everywhere! There are so many different people living inside my head, by now I feel like it's getting crowded in there. Here are a few that I adore. But they don't really have a big story written about them. I'm not mentioning Takaya here, or Jackson, or Marleen, or Cora... they have articles about them somewhere else on this page (mostly in German though, sorry).

Umino Takaya

Takaya is loud, he is out-going and he probably knows more about you than you feel comfortable with. When I decided to include a side character called "Takaya" in my Naruto fanfiction "Umino blood", I had no idea what I was getting into. Because Takaya was not satisfied with just being a side character and pushed into the spotlight. I am weirdly intrigued by his personality and his weird talent to foresee things about people by intuitively sensing their personality and emotions.

He's not like other people but he's confident in his weirdness and I love that about him.

For more information about his character and family: check out the Umino blood section.

Hatake Yuki

Yuki was created entirely by accident. When Kakashi was pregnant in "Don't judge a book by its cover", he was supposed to give birth to a son called Minato (who'd present alpha) whose character I created in "Umino blood" already. But then, it started snowing and suddenly, Minato turned into Yuki and decided to leave the womb early. Yuki is open, loving and very sweet. Not at all what Minato is like. And he will present omega one day.

But maybe, just maybe, he will have a little brother who is autistic. ^^
